I accidentally deleted my last entry!!! WTF?

I can't believe I had never read this before... I mainly read the Eric-related threads on the Charlaine Harris forum, and posters cannot comment on other suitors in the Eric thread, so it makes sense I didn't know about this one.

Then again, this had been sitting in the "CH Q & A's, Interviews, etc..." thread at the Sookie Stackhouse Series Forum since last fall, and I had never bothered reading those posts until today. Heh. I can only hope dallasmc's quote is correct. :-)

I love Bill and Sookie, please tell me they are going to end up together. I love all the books but their relationship in the first book was so enjoyable to read and really drew me into the series. Now that she is jumping from guy to guy the series plots seem to hectic. Bill and Sookie NEED to be togther! PLEASE.

A: 1062     dallasmc           2008-09-21 23:38

BillForever, Ms. Charlaine has said that Bill and Sookie will not be together. Sookie has had three lovers. I don't think that constitutes jumping from guy to guy.

Original thread:

CH Q & A's, Interviews, etc...

I also deleted [livejournal.com profile] solsticedawn's comment like an idiot! Here's what she wrote:

"She can't end up with Bill. He's been too much of a jerk to her. I'd like her to end up with Eric, but I strongly suspect she'll end up with Sam.
AND, there wasn't enough Pam in "Dead and Gone." I love Pam almost as much as I love Eric."

Yes, Sookie may end up with Sam in the end... I hope she doesn't, though, because it would be one huge cop-out. And I agree, there was hardly enough Pam in this book. But if the theory that's floating around the Sookie Stackhouse Series Forum is correct (that Pam swapped blood with Eric to help him end the blood bond with Sookie), that would explain why neither of them was around to help Sookie at the end. I really like that theory. :-)

*~*~*~*~*

There are lots more quotes from Charlaine Harris in that thread... She also said that Sookie and Bill will never have the same kind of relationship, which is hardly as strong a statement than saying they'll never be back together -- but still, I'm back in hopeful denial... Especially after Dead and Gone. :D

Okay I'm confused why would Eric want to get rid of the blood bond? If that was happened why would he?

I don't think B/S will ever be the same relationship again as the first time no matter what. I don't think Sookie has jumped on too many guys but I would like her to make a decision and not have to wait until the end of the series to find out.

I hope B/S never end up together. I hope CH agrees with me at least on that.

Wow... That was fast, Denise! :D

In D&G, Sookie makes it very clear to Eric that she doesn't know if what she feels for him is real or if it's because of the blood bond (when they have the "where is this relationship going" talk). So many people (including myself) think that Eric decided to find a way to put an end to the bond, and that he did it by getting himself drained (that also explains Pam's words about his "living on in Sookie" -- meaning, that's where some of his original blood is now). This also explains not only why he and Pam weren't there to save Sookie (because he was out of it), but also why he didn't feel her calling to him during the torture session, and why she didn't feel him arrive when he finally shows up at the end. It also explains why he tells her "You're killing me" -- he put an end to the bond because he thought she wanted it gone, but ironically it made it impossible for him to be there for her when she needed him most. It's the perfect catch 22.

They have an awesome exchange of ideas on all this in the thread I posted some days ago ("Good Thoughts on D&G" or something like that).

I would like that to be the reason Eric didn't come. So if they ever blood bond again it will be her choice but if he did that I worried about him not being to protect her from Felipe and Victor or who ever wants her like what happened in this book. If he can't feel her. But I hope that what ever the reason he didn't show up is a good one. I mean he has been there usually even when she didn't want him to be.

They're still pledged, though -- and Eric said that ignoring the pledge is punishable by instant death (or something like that).

And yes, I really hope Sookie will *choose* to be bonded to Eric again. And that they'll also get married in a formal ceremony recognized by the state of Louisiana. :D

From: [identity profile] thetragicangel.livejournal.com

That is true about the pledge. I would love to see them married but I will just be happy if she finally admits she loves Eric to him and decides to bond again with him because she wants too.

From: [identity profile] caporali.livejournal.com

Yes, I'd be very, very happy with that kind of ending, too! :)

My two cents.

I adore Eric, I really liked Bill in the first book and I've been neutral about Sam from the beginning. I don't think Quinn is in the running anymore. However.....I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sookie ends up with Sam. He adores her and with Sam, she could have children -- which I think they'd both want -- ...an impossibility with Eric or Bill.

This is not how I'd like to see the series end, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's what Harris will do. I do not think she'll pull a Stephenie Meyer and turn Sookie into a vampire, but it's anyone's guess. That's the only way I could see Sookie married to Eric, Bill or any other vampire who might show up in future books.

From: [identity profile] caporali.livejournal.com

That would make a whole lot of sense, but I'd be surprised 9well, more like disappointed) if CH decided to go for a conventional ending for Sookie... It seems to me that Sookie wants more from life, now that she knows about stuff and about herself. Why settle for the next-door neighbor? It seems to me like they'd be wonderful good friends... But it takes more than just friendship to be a happy couple. Or whatever. I really don't know CH at all, but the message of "settle down with your friendly neighbor, ask nothing more from life" sounds like a sad story for 19th-century finishing school girls. Well, JMHO, at least.

About the "can't have kids" problem... People who can't have children still get married all the time -- there are ways to have kids if one of the partners is unable to produce any "physically." I don't see that as an obstacle at all, if two people really want to be together... Call me romantic, I guess. :)

When it all comes down, though... We're in CH's hands, through and through... And she's already announced on her forum that we won't have an answer to the suitor question in Book 10, either. :-(

I don't want Sookie to end up with Sam; it's just what I think might happen...but I hope not.

Well, yes, of course. But most people want children of their own if possible. Sookie has never struck me as "maternal" so that may not even be what she'd want.

And she's already announced on her forum that we won't have an answer to the suitor question in Book 10, either. :-(

Yes, I saw her quoted somewhere as saying that.

From: [identity profile] caporali.livejournal.com

And you know, I'm so braindead from not going to bed last night that I forgot this little bit: how can Sookie even stand having children, with her telepathy? The only child she would be able to have around 24/7 would maybe be someone like Hunter, who'd be in a sense her peer. Otherwise, she'd be in constant strain trying to shield her kid's thoughts. Not exactly a happy thing to have to do, if you're emotionally very invested in that person... And a mother would certainly be very invested, don't you think? Can you imagine being able to read your teenage kid's mind? :-)

From: [identity profile] yeuxdebleu.livejournal.com

Ohhh, I never thought of that, but you're right. O_O

Can you imagine being able to read your teenage kid's mind? :-)

LOL I don't think I'd want to...and no teenager would want a mother who could do that.

Can't you just imagine what a mess it would be if Sookie married Barry the bellboy and they had a child like Hunter. There'd be a mental traffic jam in the house every day. *snork*

From: [identity profile] caporali.livejournal.com

LOL!!! You always have the best icons!!! :D ...That would be really -- REALLY -- gross!

But at least telepaths can learn to stay out of each other's minds without too much strain, right? I thought that's what Sookie and Barry were doing... or maybe it's my dead brain making stuff up. :-)

To tell you the truth, though, I joined the club of fans spinning their wheels imagining that Sookie (and Eric?) may end up "adopting" Hunter. :D

From: [identity profile] yeuxdebleu.livejournal.com

LOL!!! You always have the best icons!!! :D

Thank you! I need to get rid of about 40 of them and upload some new ones. But it's a very laborious process with dial up, so I don't make changes as often as I'd like.

No, your brain isn't dead, Sookie and Barry did try to stay out of each other's heads.

Sookie and Eric adopting Hunter...now that would be definitely be interesting. *g*

I just checked out True Blood Wiki for the first time. Interesting art. I think my favorite is still Black Lagoon. Is that one person or a group who call themselves Black Lagoon?

From: [identity profile] caporali.livejournal.com

Ehm... I think Black Lagoon is just one person, but don't quote me on that. And she's definitely my favorite, too, so far. :-) Have you checked out the site lately? She's got a whole bunch of new Twilight art up.

(Edited for bad spelling!)

From: [identity profile] yeuxdebleu.livejournal.com

OMG! She has Twilight stuff, too? Do you have a link to there? I've only seen the things you've posted; never gone directly there.

From: [identity profile] yeuxdebleu.livejournal.com

So many fantastic wallpaper possibilities...it boggles the mind. O_O I'm afraid I'll be saying, "Bye-bye, Eric...hello, Edward."

You can't imagine how long those take to open with dial up. Argghhh!

From: [identity profile] yeuxdebleu.livejournal.com

Ohhh! You just gave me an idea. I could take all my favorite wallpapers since the beginning of time and have a slideshow desktop. I have friends and relatives who do that with photos they've taken, so I don't see why I couldn't do it with wallpapers.

I'll have to ask my techie friends how to do that. Thanks for planting that idea in my bean.
